Code of Practice

ICL code of Practice

When international students come to New Zealand to study, education providers have a responsibility to ensure they are well informed, safe, and properly supported. In New Zealand, this responsibility is known as The Code of Pastoral Care.

All students, regardless of age or level of study, are entitled to be treated fairly and with respect. To support this, the New Zealand Government introduced the Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021.

As a partner school of the ICL Education Group, ICL Graduate Business School fully observes and is bound by this Code.

Pastoral care

Did you know that wellbeing and safety support your learning?

The Code of Pastoral Care has been put together to make sure you have the best possible support system.

This means that while you’re learning, you should be:

  • Safe – physically and mentally respected for who you are
  • Supported in your learning and wellbeing
  • Connected with your social and cultural networks and
  • Able to have your say in decisions about services.

If you want to find out more, or if something isn’t working for you, talk to your learning provider first, or if you need to, you can talk to NZQA.
