On Wednesday, 14 May, ICL Graduate Business School had the pleasure of hosting the second edition of the ICL Speaker Series, welcoming Siddhartha Sharma, Senior Manager and Compliance Officer at EY (Ernst & Young), as our distinguished guest speaker.
The session focused on the highly relevant topic of “Business Structures in New Zealand and Related Compliance”, offering our students an in-depth look into the frameworks that underpin business operations in Aotearoa. With years of experience in business advisory, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance, Mr Sharma brought valuable real-world perspectives that directly complemented the academic learning of our business programmes.
The presentation explored the different types of business entities in New Zealand, their legal and financial implications, and the critical role of compliance in maintaining ethical and sustainable operations. Students were not only introduced to practical case examples, but also to current trends and challenges faced by professionals in the compliance and corporate governance fields.
A highlight of the event was the interactive Q&A session, where students actively engaged with the speaker, asking thoughtful questions and exploring how the session’s content applied to their future careers.
