Bachelor of Business Information Systems (Healthcare)

The Bachelor of Business Information Systems with specialisation in Healthcare prepares graduates to operate at the intersection of business, technology, and healthcare. This programme equips students with a strong foundation in information systems and core business principles, alongside specialised knowledge of healthcare environments, health information management, and digital health technologies.

Students develop the technical, analytical, and professional skills required to support healthcare organisations through effective use of data, systems, and digital solutions. Emphasis is placed on ethical data practices, service improvement, and informed decision-making to enhance healthcare delivery and organisational performance.

Graduates will be well-positioned to contribute to the rapidly evolving healthcare sector in Aotearoa New Zealand and globally, where information systems play a critical role in improving patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and strategic planning.

Students of this programme are required to bring their own devices (laptop, tablet).

Entry Requirements

• A qualification that is recognised as the New Zealand University Entrance (UE) with a minimum of 14 credits at NCEA Level 3 in three different approved subjects, 10 credits at NCEA Level 2 in English, and 10 credits at NCEA Level 1 in Mathematics, or
• An alternative secondary school qualification (Ad Eundem Statum) that is deemed equivalent to the UE.
• For international students, academic IELTS with a minimum score of 6.0 overall (with no band score lower than 5.5 and gained within the past 2 years within one examination), or any other equivalent in a test recognised by NZQA.
