Postgraduate Qualifications from The University of Auckland and the German Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt in the fields of Business, Business Computing and Commerce.
Certificate in Adult Learning and Teaching from the Auckland University of Technology (AUT).
Certificate in Chinese Business from the Ocean University of Qingdao, China.

Prof. Markus Klose began his career in tertiary education in 2003. Before joining ICL, Markus held positions in public universities, polytechnics, and private training establishments as a Principal Lecturer, Programme Manager, Programme Director, and Learning Designer.

Markus has designed several study programmes ranging from Certificates to Master-level courses for accreditation by both professional bodies and NZQA. The focus of every programme he has ever designed is on students’ employability upon graduation and the acquisition of real-life skills based on a sound theoretical foundation. Therefore, Markus works very closely with industry and professional bodies in designing these programmes.

Markus also teaches online at the German Ostbayerische Hochschule in Regensburg, where he facilitates courses in Marketing Research. Regarding his teaching philosophy, Markus says, “I don’t believe in a typical university teaching approach, where the professor lectures and hundreds of students are listening, trying to make sense of the lecture to pass a theoretical exam. If you really want to learn something, you need to do it and be fully engaged.”

Dr Jamali has over twenty years of experience in research and teaching. He teaches postgraduate business courses and supervises Master’s students. His expertise includes programme development and evaluation, moderation, and assessment design. Jamali’s research interests include curriculum, international students, motivation, behavioural psychology, leadership, and gender and cultural studies.

Jamali began his career as an intern teacher and has worked in various academic, research, training, and managerial roles in different countries. He has been involved in research projects in education, health, and SMEs funded by USAID, GTZ, and the World Bank.

Jamali’s extensive experience working with diverse workforces in different countries, multilingual skills, active participation in and chairing international conferences, and publications in reputed journals have given him a deep appreciation for cultural diversity and made him more positive, adaptable and self-assured in multicultural environments.

Jamali enjoys playing musical instruments, singing, reading, fishing, travelling, and volunteering for charities outside work.

Meripa is a highly skilled educational professional with a strong belief that within teaching and learning, supporting students is paramount through service and leadership. Her background is in the development of curriculum, policy; innovative practices; Pacific indigenous knowledge and Early Childhood education. She/He continues to supervise master’s students for their thesis work in the MBI and MM ICL programmes. Research interests foreground innovative, transformative Critical Spiritual Pedagogies, Pasifika pedagogy. This is navigating forward holistic notions of mentoring and fostering Pasifika research for the future; The intersectionality within areas of education reform; Mentorship; The multi categories of the Va; Philosophy.

Meripa has been a Lecturer in Critical Studies in Education, University of Auckland, Faculty of Education, School of Critical Studies in Education; Coordinator Tokoroa Cohort, University of Auckland, Faculty of Education and Social Work; School of Pasifika Education; has worked in a range of early childhood education contexts in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Meripa teaches curriculum: The Holistic Curriculum, Te Ao Maori, Human Development: Maori, Pacific and Global Perspectives and Infant and Toddler Pedagogies.

Prema began her New Zealand academic career in 2008, after working in India as a Programmer and Software Tester. Before joining ICL, Prema held positions in Polytechnics and Private Training Establishments as Senior Lecturer, Moderation Co-ordinator, Instructional Designer, and Subject Matter Expert.

Prema’s research interests focus on Software Engineering, Data Science, the knowledge and expertise aspect of AI-human interactions, Software Quality Assurance and Testing, Teaching and Learning. She has authored papers and posters winning conference awards, acted as a reviewer on conference and advisory boards, and served as an advisory member for developing NZQA and ITP Software Testing Qualifications. Prema has supervised many Master's projects and theses for IT/ IS, Management, and Informatics Masters programmes.

Regarding her teaching philosophy, Prema strives “to bring real-world experiences into the classroom by collaborating with industry partners”.

She teaches undergrad IS programmes, postgraduate business programmes and supervises Master’s students.

Ewen Mackenzie-Bowie has a Master’s in Children’s Literature from the University of Surrey and a BA (Hons) from the University of Stirling. He has over 30 years of experience in business schools, language schools and state education, in teaching, administration, sales and marketing.

Ewen was on the Board of ITENZ for two years, was Chairman of the Board of Richmond Road School for six years and was Chairman of English New Zealand in 2015.

Ewen has had a paper on the poetry of Richard Edwards published in The Journal of Children’s Literature Studies (UK) and papers on children’s literature in the first three editions of the ICL Journal. He has published two illustrated books, Superpuffin and Superpuffin and the Dinosaurs, and had his Master’s thesis on The Wolf in Children’s Literature published by Lambert Academic Publishing in 2011.
